Generic USD sounds like a stablecoin that wants to stand in for the dollar, and that kind of naming is already half the pitch. By our assessment, it belongs to the most crowded part of crypto: tokens that promise a familiar unit of account, easy transfer, and a simple way to move value around exchanges or apps. The trade-off is obvious, though, because a dollar-style token lives or dies on trust, reserves, and redemption mechanics, not on the name alone. In practice this sort of coin is judged less by flair than by whether people believe it really tracks the thing it copies, and that makes it feel useful only within a very specific setup.
