EigenCloud (prev. EigenLayer)

The shift from EigenLayer to EigenCloud points at an infrastructure project that wants to move from one technical layer to another, and that is already a more serious pitch than a novelty coin. By our assessment, it still lives in the hard, specialist corner of crypto, where the audience is people who follow staking, restaking, and shared security ideas closely. What it is good at, at least on paper, is carrying a recognizable name across a change in framing, so the old identity is not thrown away. The trade-off is that this kind of project can feel opaque fast: most of the work happens in concepts rather than in something a casual holder can see or use. In practice that means reading docs, following ecosystem chatter, and accepting that the value lies in technical architecture more than in everyday simplicity. It sits above branded meme-style tokens and below plain, broad-money coins in accessibility, because the barrier here is understanding, not just buying. EigenCloud (prev. EigenLayer) is not built for quick, obvious use, and that is exactly why it remains a niche piece of crypto plumbing.
