Deutsche Mark

Deutsche Mark is a cryptocurrency, and the name points back to old German money rather than to a modern payment network with much personality. By our assessment, it looks like a token that leans on the force of a familiar name more than on a clearly distinct use case. That usually makes these coins easy to recognize and hard to separate from the crowd. The trade-off is simple: borrowed recognition can help attention, but it also leaves the project with little room to stand on its own. In practice, that often means a lot of branding and not much else visible from the outside. Compared with major cryptocurrencies, Deutsche Mark gives you far less to hang a judgment on, because the public picture is thin. It is the kind of item that feels mostly like a name first and a product second, and that keeps the ceiling low.
