Compute Network

Compute Network sounds infrastructural, but the item is still a cryptocurrency, not a full computing platform. By our assessment, that puts it in the familiar token category where the important question is whether people actually use it or simply pass it around. Its strength is the ordinary one crypto assets have when they are alive in the market: transferability, wallet support, and the chance of becoming part of a wider trading flow. The trade-off is that the network word in the name does not remove the usual token problems of volatility and dependence on outside interest. In practice, this is the sort of thing that can feel useful inside crypto circles and fairly vague outside them. Compared with coins that clearly anchor themselves to one job, Compute Network is broader in name than in reality, and that makes it harder to pin down.
