BBVA is a broad retail and commercial bank for current accounts, cards, mortgages, consumer credit and business services, with a strong digital side alongside the branch network. By our assessment, it is especially good at combining a modern app with the workhorse duties of a major bank, so it feels less old-fashioned than some rivals. The trade-off is that a large bank still comes with product layers, conditions and a certain amount of paperwork, especially when credit is involved. In practice it is used for salary deposits, everyday transfers and home finance, while small businesses can also fit into its range.
