simpleMIDIController

The narrow trade-off is clear in the name: simpleMIDIController is for sending MIDI control, not for producing sound by itself. MIDI can carry note and control messages to compatible music software or hardware, which makes this kind of app a possible remote control for a setup that already makes sound elsewhere. By our assessment, its value depends on what equipment or software it can connect to and how its controls can be assigned. That keeps the idea straightforward, but also means it is not a self-contained instrument or a general-purpose music studio. People expecting ready-made sounds or recording tools will be looking for a different kind of app. The practical question is whether the controls match the MIDI setup already in use. It sends instructions to other music gear; the sound comes from that gear.
