iClicker Student

In a class that uses live questions, iClicker Student gives students a way to respond from a phone or other device instead of relying only on spoken answers. It is used for classroom polls and quizzes, and instructors may also use it to record participation or attendance. By our assessment, that makes it a useful bridge between a lesson and quick feedback: students can answer as the class moves along, while an instructor can see responses together. The app depends on the instructor and course using iClicker, so it is not a general-purpose study planner or a replacement for a course platform. Compared with raising hands, it can make it easier to collect responses from a whole room, though it also asks students to keep a device ready and follow the class setup. Each question becomes a short in-class response rather than a separate assignment.
