bol

bol is a shopping app for people who want to browse and order from a retail catalogue on a phone, and its value is simply that it keeps the buying flow in one place. By our assessment, it is useful as a no-frills store app rather than as a feature-heavy platform. The downside is the usual one for this kind of tool: it only matters if the retailer’s assortment, search, and checkout are actually well kept, and a bare app like this gives you little reason to stay otherwise. In practice it is the sort of thing you open for a specific purchase, not for lingering. It sits below the big marketplace apps that add reviews, recommendations, and broad third-party choice, and above a clumsy mobile site. The name is plain, the job is plain, and the card only works if the catalogue does too.
