WalkUp Alarm

WalkUp Alarm makes the waking-up part do the work: the alarm does not stop at a tap, so it pushes the person to get moving instead of half-sleeping through it. By our assessment, that is its real appeal, because it turns an alarm into a small physical task and makes snoozing harder. The trade-off is simple too: anyone who dislikes being forced out of bed will find it annoying, since the whole point is extra friction. In practice it is for mornings when ordinary alarms get ignored and a louder, more insistent prompt is needed. Compared with standard clock apps, it is more active and less polite, closer to a challenge than to a background sound. The Astrina catalogue places WalkUp Alarm in Health & Fitness, which fits the wake-up-and-move idea better than a normal timepiece label would. It is strongest when sleep inertia is the real problem and the user is willing to let the app interrupt the routine.
