Video Lite

Video Lite is aimed at people who want a light video player and not a full media center, so the appeal is simplicity rather than deep control. By our assessment, that simplicity is the main advantage: it should stay easy to open, play, and move through clips without a lot of clutter. The downside is the small ceiling that comes with a lite app, because fewer controls and fewer extras usually mean less room for power users. In practice these apps tend to feel quick and spare, with the sort of stripped-back interface that gets out of the way until someone wants subtitles, playlists, or more serious playback features. Against heavier players and full media suites, Video Lite sits at the minimal end of the category. It is for basic viewing, and its limits show as soon as the job gets fussy.
