UnTrap for YouTube

UnTrap for YouTube is aimed at people who want YouTube to feel less sticky and less distracting. By our assessment, the point of the app is the anti-recommendation side of the site: hiding parts of the feed, reducing temptation, and making it easier to stay on the video you actually opened. That focus is useful, but it also means the app depends on the user wanting restraint more than discovery. In practice this sort of tool changes the look and rhythm of YouTube more than the core player itself, so it can feel like a stricter room rather than a different platform. It sits alongside browser tools and distraction blockers, not alongside a full YouTube replacement. UnTrap for YouTube makes sense for people who keep drifting into recommendations and want a cleaner feed, and it is much less useful if YouTube already feels tidy enough for the way they use it.
