Thunderstorm for Hue turns Philips Hue bulbs into a storm effect, usually with flashes of light and a weather-heavy mood controlled from the phone. By our assessment, that single trick is the attraction: it is a novelty app for people who already live with Hue lights and want a bit of atmosphere on demand. The limit is obvious too, because it does one gimmick rather than a broad set of lighting scenes, so it will not replace the main Hue app or a proper smart-home controller. In use, this kind of thing is more playful than practical, and the appeal depends entirely on whether a lightning-flash routine sounds fun in the room. It is a small entertainment add-on, not a serious lighting tool.
