T-Life

T-Life tries to bundle the everyday T-Mobile customer tasks people reach for most often: account access, billing, support, rewards and store-related touchpoints. By our assessment, that makes it useful as a single front door for a carrier’s routine business, especially if someone already lives in T-Mobile’s world. The limit is that it is still a carrier app, so it is only as interesting as the tasks your mobile account actually needs. In practice this kind of app feels less like a destination and more like a control panel, with bills, account settings and service nudges all in one place. Compared with a general utility app, it is narrow and account-specific; compared with calling support, it is self-serve and faster for simple jobs. The lifestyle label is a little broad, but the app itself is plainly about managing the relationship with T-Mobile rather than browsing for entertainment.
