Rule-based routing is the defining idea behind Stash - Rule Based Proxy: traffic can be directed according to rules instead of sending everything through one route. By our assessment, that gives more control than a basic on-off proxy switch, but it also asks the user to understand proxy settings and maintain rules that fit the traffic. The practical work is in getting those rules right and keeping them current.
