Ship Finder is for the moment when a vessel has to be identified on a map, not guessed at from the shoreline. By our assessment, its main strength is live ship tracking, because marine-traffic data turns a moving object into something you can actually follow, which is far more useful than a static harbour chart. The downside is the obvious one for navigation tools: coverage, signal quality and map detail matter, so it is only as good as the data feeding it. In use it feels like a specialised map layer, built for people who care about vessels, routes and nearby traffic rather than casual browsing. It sits closer to marine awareness tools than to consumer travel apps, and the limit is that it helps with seeing ships, not with steering them.
