A private folder for photos is the trade-off suggested by Secret Photo+Folder: image storage is the focus, not a general-purpose gallery. By our assessment, that is a clear use case within the Photo & Video category, but the name by itself says nothing about encryption, backups, or how access is protected. If a photo is moved into a separate folder, its safety still depends on the app’s actual protections and the device’s own security.
