Sea Soul

Sea Soul sounds more like a mood than a category, and that is a clue: this is the kind of app whose exact job is not obvious from the name alone. By our assessment, that makes it hard to judge as a broad social tool, because the public face is not as concrete as with a dating or tracking app. The upside is a certain room for identity and atmosphere; the downside is that vague branding can leave the actual purpose hazy. In practice, an app like this often lives or dies on whether the first screen makes its use immediately clear. It is not trying to be a giant network, and the name does most of the work before the app even opens.
