San Josemaría

San Josemaría is a reference app built around the figure of Josemaría Escrivá and the materials that surround his life and writings. By our assessment, its value is mainly documentary: it gives devotees and curious readers a place to look up texts, sayings, and background in one spot. That also shows the limit, because a reference app of this sort is only as useful as the material it gathers, and it will feel narrow to anyone outside its subject. In practice it asks for a readerly kind of attention, more browsing than tapping, and it makes sense when someone wants a single subject kept together rather than a broad encyclopedia. It sits in the devotional-reference corner of the app world, and San Josemaría is plainly not meant as a general-purpose source for everyone.
