Rakuten Link

Rakuten Link is the extra phone app that matters most when calls and messages stay inside Rakuten’s own ecosystem. It is meant for people who use that network and want app-based calling, texting, and the usual social contact features in one place. By our assessment, it does the core job plainly, but its reach is narrower than a normal messaging app because it sits inside a specific service world. In practice that means a lot of account-bound communication and less freedom than a general chat tool. It makes most sense where the Rakuten setup is already the point, and it is less attractive if someone wants a universal messenger that friends can use without any shared system.
