Quantumult X asks for patience and some technical curiosity, and that is exactly why power users like it. By our assessment, it stands out as a serious iOS proxy and network-routing tool, with rule-based traffic handling, filtering, and script support that go well beyond a casual utility app. The downside is the learning curve: setup is not friendly in the way a simple VPN app is friendly, and a novice can get lost fast. In practice it feels like a small control panel for people who want to shape how connections move, not a one-tap switch. Against mainstream VPNs it is much more flexible and much less welcoming, which is the whole bargain. It suits people who already know why they need custom rules; if that sentence sounds like noise, Quantumult X is probably too much app for the job.
