Provoke Camera

Provoke Camera is for people who want a phone camera that can be pushed into less ordinary results instead of just point-and-shoot snapshots. By our assessment, its appeal is the idea behind the name: a camera app aimed at making the image feel less automatic and more deliberately shaped. The limit is that a camera app can only do so much on a phone, and this kind of tool still depends on the device’s own lens and sensor. In practice that usually means more control than the stock camera, but also more menus, more fiddling, and a bit more patience. It sits with the many photo apps that try to give casual shooting a stronger look without becoming full desktop editing software. Provoke Camera is for people who like experimenting with phone images; it is not for anyone who wants the camera to stay invisible.
