Potty Time with Elmo

Potty Time with Elmo is a toilet-training app for very young children and their parents, built around Sesame Street’s Elmo as a familiar guide. By our assessment, its main strength is the friendly, low-pressure tone: it makes an awkward routine feel less intimidating and more like a simple habit. The trade-off is that it is tightly focused on one narrow job, so it is not much use outside potty training itself. In practice it is the sort of thing adults use beside a child, with reminders, encouragement, and a cheerful character doing most of the work. Compared with general parenting apps, it is much more specific and less ambitious, which is exactly why it can work. The limit is its ceiling: once the child is past this stage, there is not much left for it to do.
