Paint By Number Creator

Paint By Number Creator takes an ordinary image and turns it into a numbered paint-by-number template, which is exactly the sort of thing hobby painters and craft makers reach for. By our assessment, it is a template-making app rather than a drawing app, and that is the right frame for it. Its main strength is obvious: it automates the boring conversion step and leaves you with a usable grid of regions and numbers. The downside is equally plain; the final result depends heavily on the source picture, and busy photos can become muddy templates. In practice it is a tool for cropping, simplifying, and checking whether an image still reads after reduction. It sits in a crafty corner of Photo & Video rather than in serious art software. The catalogue files Paint By Number Creator under Photo & Video, which fits its image-to-template job. It makes the conversion easy, but the quality still rests on the original picture.
