Okta Verify

For account sign-in, Okta Verify adds a second check beyond a password. Organizations using Okta can use it to approve sign-in prompts or generate verification codes, helping protect work accounts when a password alone is not enough. The everyday flow is straightforward once an organization has enrolled the account, but the app is not a general-purpose authenticator chosen independently of that setup. By our assessment, it fills a clear business-security role, with the trade-off that access and recovery are tied to the organization’s Okta configuration and device enrollment. A phone change or lost device can therefore require an administrator or the organization’s recovery process. Sign-in approval arrives as a prompt on the enrolled device.
