Numberblocks Treasure Hunt

Early counting is the job at the center of Numberblocks Treasure Hunt, with familiar Numberblocks characters giving young children a playful way into basic number ideas. Its educational value comes from meeting children at the level of counting and number recognition rather than asking them to begin with formal lessons. The treasure-hunt framing gives those activities a simple goal, which can help hold a preschooler’s attention. By our assessment, that is a sensible fit for short, guided learning sessions, especially for children who already enjoy the Numberblocks world. It is a companion to early practice, not a substitute for the conversation and explanation an adult can provide. Children who have outgrown basic number work may find its scope narrow. The familiar characters and simple hunt format are the main part of its appeal.
