Navicat for MariaDB is the sort of desktop tool database people reach for when they need to inspect tables, run queries, and manage a MariaDB server without living inside a command line. By our assessment, it is strongest on the practical bits: browsing schemas, editing data, and keeping connections and sessions in one place. The trade-off is that it adds another layer between the user and the database, so it is not the lightest choice for quick one-off work. In use it feels like a serious admin console rather than a casual helper, with the usual comfort of saved connections and the usual clutter of a full client. Compared with plain SQL tools, it gives more structure and fewer surprises. It suits people who work with MariaDB regularly and want a GUI; for occasional database checks, it is more machine than needed.
