MultiTrack DAW

Recording several parts on one device is the practical trade MultiTrack DAW makes: it brings multitrack recording, editing, effects, and mixing into a mobile music-production app. By our assessment, that is a useful option for song sketches and recording work that does not need the full setup of desktop software. The familiar track-based layout gives separate parts room to be adjusted, while effects and mixing let a rough recording be shaped into a more finished arrangement. Working on a small screen is less comfortable for detailed editing than using a computer, and a larger project still takes care and attention to balance. It is a music-making tool, not a shortcut around arranging or mixing decisions. Balancing track levels and effects remains part of finishing a mix.
