Mergata

Mergata is a social networking app, so its whole job is to put people in touch rather than to do anything complicated. By our assessment, that makes it a fairly plain entry in a crowded category: the value sits in the contact layer, not in some big extra feature. The downside is also the usual one for this kind of app: without a clear community or a strong reason to return, it can feel interchangeable with a lot of other social apps. In practice that means profiles, messages, and the usual attention to who is there and whether the network is alive. Compared with larger, better-known platforms, Mergata has to earn its place by being specific, because generic social networking is easy to start and hard to keep interesting. It makes sense for someone looking for a straightforward social app, and less sense for anyone who wants a clearly defined niche or a big existing audience.
