JMARemotesPro

JMARemotesPro is a utility for turning a phone into a remote control, the sort of tool people reach for when a device or setup needs button presses from a distance. By our assessment, its best quality is that very narrow focus: it exists to handle remote-style control rather than to pretend it is a general smart-home hub. The downside is the usual one for remote apps, which is that they depend on the thing at the other end being set up properly and compatible in the first place. In practice that means a lot of tapping, pairing, and small adjustments instead of any big visual flourish. It sits in the crowded middle of remote-control utilities, where usefulness comes from support and specificity more than from polish. The Astrina catalogue lists it under Utilities, which is the right shelf for it.
