JBL PartyBox

JBL PartyBox points at party speakers and the kind of companion app that usually serves Bluetooth control, lighting, and preset sound settings. By our assessment, that sort of app is useful when the speaker itself is nearby and you want quick tweaks without walking back to the unit. The limit is also obvious: it is only as interesting as the hardware around it, so outside the JBL speaker setup there is not much reason for it to matter. In use, these apps tend to feel spare and functional rather than rich, with the real value sitting in the speaker, not the screen. Compared with full music apps it is tiny; compared with a remote, it is more convenient because it can expose more controls. JBL PartyBox is for owners of the compatible speakers, and almost nobody else will find a use for it.
