Gus on the Go: Arabisch is a children’s language-learning app that teaches Arabic through simple lessons and game-like repetition. By our assessment, its main strength is the child-friendly structure: short prompts, basic vocabulary, and a low-pressure way to start hearing and saying words. The downside is the same one common to many kids’ language apps, which is that it stays at an introductory level and does not go far into grammar. In practice, it feels light and paced for attention spans that are still short. It belongs with early language apps rather than full courses, and the cartoon style is part of the appeal. The app name makes the target clear without pretending to be anything more serious than a first step.
