GoodPlayer

GoodPlayer is a plain video player for people who want to open local files and handle awkward formats without much ceremony. By our assessment, its strength is breadth of playback support, which is exactly what matters when the built-in player on a device refuses a file. The trade-off is that it lives in a crowded field, so it has to earn its place by handling formats cleanly rather than by looking flashy. In use, that usually means a practical, no-nonsense interface and the familiar chores of any media app: finding files, sorting subtitles, and adjusting playback. It sits alongside the better-known utility players rather than replacing a full media center, and its name says the job plainly enough. GoodPlayer is for people who want a video app to get out of the way and leave the file on screen.
