El Corte Inglés is a shopping app for a department-store customer who wants the retailer’s own shelves on a phone. By our assessment, it does a good job at the basic retail tasks: browsing stock, checking what a big chain carries, and tying the app to a familiar physical store. The limit is obvious too: it is still retail software, so the appeal depends on whether you already care about that chain and its catalogue rather than on any special app magic. In practice it should feel like a store counter moved into a screen, with the usual search, categories, and account bits that make large-store shopping less messy. Against Amazon or other broad marketplaces, it is narrower and more branded, not a giant open bazaar. It suits people who already use El Corte Inglés as a place to shop, and it has little reason to matter to anyone looking for a neutral all-purpose marketplace.
