Driving Theory by James May turns the dry job of theory-test prep into something a lot less stiff, and that is its main trick. By our assessment, it works well for learner drivers who want the road rules explained in plain language rather than buried in official phrasing. The upside is clarity and personality; the downside is that it is still limited to theory, not real driving practice, so it cannot replace lessons in a car. In use it should feel like a guided revision tool with a recognisable voice, more memorable than a generic quiz app. It sits in the driving-education lane rather than the entertainment lane, and the name already signals that it is built around his style of explanation. The driving theory test part still has to be done in the ordinary, unglamorous way.
