Discovery AUv3 Synth

The trade-off with a software synth is clear: it offers sound design on a device, but the playing and routing depend on the rest of a music setup. Discovery AUv3 Synth is a synthesizer built to work as an AUv3 instrument in compatible music apps, making it relevant to people who compose or perform on mobile devices. It provides a way to create electronic sounds rather than merely play back a fixed set of recordings. By our assessment, the plug-in format is a practical strength because a synth can sit inside a larger host-based session. The cost is some setup: the host must support the format, and useful results still depend on choosing and shaping sounds. When the host cannot load AUv3 instruments, that plug-in workflow is unavailable.
