It is aimed at musicians and technicians who tune by ear and need a clear visual reference, rather than at people looking for a music-making app. By our assessment, that focused purpose is its main strength: the display gives more detail than a basic chromatic tuner. A strobe reading can take a little practice to interpret, and the app cannot replace a stable instrument or careful listening. Compared with a simple free tuner, it asks more of the user in return for finer control. The needle settles only as the instrument’s pitch settles.
