Colloquy - IRC Client

Colloquy - IRC Client is for people who still use IRC, which already tells you that it serves a particular kind of talk rather than mainstream messaging. By our assessment, its good side is that it gives IRC users a dedicated client instead of forcing them into a modern app that does not fit the protocol’s habits. The honest downside is the same narrowness: IRC is plain, text-heavy, and often technical, so the app is only as good as the user’s comfort with that older style of chat. In practice that means channels, nicknames, and a spartan interface instead of reactions and polished extras. It sits well below large chat platforms in reach, but above ad hoc workarounds if IRC is the destination. Colloquy - IRC Client makes sense for people who know why they want IRC in the first place.
