Canvas by Instructure

Canvas by Instructure is the campus and classroom workspace many students and teachers open for assignments, grades, modules, and announcements. By our assessment, its main strength is that it organizes a lot of school life into one place without hiding the important bits, especially when a class uses quizzes, files, discussion boards, and calendar items together. The downside is that it can feel dense when a course is built heavily around it, because every school and instructor uses its tools a little differently. In practice it is a lot of opening folders, checking due dates, and following links rather than one simple feed. Canvas by Instructure sits near the center of modern learning management systems, alongside the big names in that category, and that is exactly why it has a solid reputation. It suits people who live inside assignment deadlines and course pages, not people who want a casual study app.
