Canvas Parent

Parent oversight is the trade Canvas Parent makes: it gives families a way to follow schoolwork in Canvas without using the student’s full learning interface. The education app can bring together grades, assignments, course announcements and calendar information, depending on what a school makes available. That makes it easier to keep track of several parts of a student’s school life in one place. It is not the same as doing coursework through a student account, and school settings shape what a parent can see. By our assessment, it is a useful companion to Canvas for keeping up with progress, though it cannot make missing or delayed course information appear. The school’s Canvas setup determines which grades and assignments show up.
