Arkhe IRC

Arkhe IRC is for people who still want an IRC client rather than a modern chat app with channels hidden behind layers of polish. By our assessment, its appeal is in the stripped-down nature of IRC itself: text-first rooms, direct conversation, and light overhead. The downside is also part of the package, because IRC expects more setup and more tolerance for plain interfaces than mainstream messengers do. In practice it is a tool for joining servers and channels, not a social feed, so the feel is closer to old network chat than to today’s polished group apps. It sits beside other IRC clients and is only interesting if that protocol already means something to the user. The name is simple and it does the job without pretending to be more than a client.
