1 Dollar Piano

1 Dollar Piano sounds like a bargain, but in practice the name points to a very small piano app rather than a serious instrument tool. By our assessment, its value is in the simplest kind of on-screen keyboard use: tap notes, hear tones, and treat the phone as a toy keyboard for casual play. The downside is plain enough, because soft synth keys on a phone have limited feel, limited range, and no real substitute for a proper piano or even a stronger music app. It is the kind of thing used for quick noodling, picking out a melody, or letting a beginner poke at notes without much setup. Compared with full music-production apps, it is tiny; compared with a real keyboard, it is only a sketch of the experience. The Astrina catalogue files it under Entertainment, and the name’s own 1 is just part of the title, not a promise about what it does.
