iTHUMP/Toxic+

By our assessment, iTHUMP/Toxic+ looks like a small entertainment app that lives or dies by its novelty rather than by any deep function. The name suggests a loud, stylised music or sound toy, and that is usually the kind of thing people open for a quick diversion on a phone. Its strength is immediate playfulness: these apps tend to be simple to start and easy to understand at a glance. The limit is obvious too, because once the gimmick is familiar there is not much to keep returning to. In practice this kind of app is all taps, quick reactions, and short sessions rather than anything you settle into. It sits well below full music tools and far above a plain wallpaper or icon pack in terms of actual interaction. The Astrina catalogue places it under Entertainment, which fits the sort of use it seems aimed at.
