Rygel Advanced Machines d/b/a Omtech Laser is a maker of laser machines for cutting and engraving, which puts it squarely in the world of shops, makers and small production work. By our assessment, the appeal is the obvious one: laser gear can turn a digital file into clean cuts or engraved surfaces with less hand finishing than more manual tools. The trade-off is just as obvious, because this sort of machine asks for setup, ventilation, material choice and some patience with calibration. In practice, it is closer to a workshop tool than a consumer gadget, and it makes sense only when the user expects to work through repeated jobs. It sits among the many laser-cutter brands rather than above them by reputation alone, and it is not the thing for someone who wants a plug-and-forget appliance.
