Rasselball /// Rattleball is clearly built as a rattling ball toy, the kind babies can grasp, shake, and drop without needing instructions. By our assessment, its best feature is the most basic one: it gives off a clear sound and a simple motion that make sense to very young children. The trade-off is equally basic, because once the novelty of shaking passes, there is not much else to discover. In use it is the sort of object that gets batted, rolled, and listened to more than played with in a complex way. Compared with softer teething toys or bigger activity toys, it is simpler and more portable, but also much more limited. It is the kind of thing that belongs in early sensory play, not in a toy box meant to last for years.
