PARTY GO Blowing Dragon / Trombita is a party toy built around sound, not subtlety, and that makes it useful for noisy celebrations and kids’ play. By our assessment, its best trick is the immediate attention it gets: wind it up or blow into it and the whole point is a loud, comic burst rather than a delicate tune. The limit is the same thing, because instruments and noise-makers of this kind can be tiring fast and are not meant for refined music. In practice it is the sort of object that turns a quiet room into a rowdy one in seconds, which is fun in the right setting and irritating in the wrong one. Compared with a real musical instrument, it sits firmly on the toy side. It is for parties, dress-up play, and cheap entertainment, not for anyone looking for pitch or control.
