AUDI A8/S8 lives in the long-wheelbase luxury-sedan world, with the S8 side leaning harder into performance than the standard A8. By our assessment, that split is its strongest point: one name covers the calm executive cruiser and the sharper, quicker version in the same family. The downside is also built in, because a car this big and this expensive to run is not trying to be simple, cheap, or especially subtle. In practice you get quiet cabins, heavy comfort, and the sense of a very technical car doing a lot of work to feel effortless. It sits near the top of the full-size luxury segment, against other flagship sedans from the German premium field. The A8/S8 badge tells you it is a status car first, and a comfort machine with a faster branch on the side.
