Axelar is the sort of crypto project people reach for when they care about moving value or messages across different chains, not when they want a simple standalone coin. By our assessment, its real appeal is the cross-chain layer itself: it belongs to the bridge-and-interoperability world, where coordination matters more than flashy branding. The downside is that this class of crypto is structurally exposed to complexity, because every extra chain and connection adds another place where trust and design have to hold up. In practice it is a technical piece of infrastructure, more interesting to builders and active crypto users than to anyone who just wants a plain store of value.
